Christopher Renoud, P.E. — President

Expertise and experience: Chris acquired FSE from the founder Winston Renoud, and has successfully led the organization through a major transition in leadership. He has worked in all technical areas of the company, including design, inspection, testing and preventive maintenance over the past 20 years. Having grown up in the business, Chris is uniquely qualified to guide the company through the next phases of growth and expansion.

Randy Rapoza, P.E. — Vice President of Operations, Principal Engineer

Expertise and experience: Randy is a world-recognized leader in composite engineering. His work in the implementation of laminate theory has advanced industry understanding and acceptance of FRP as an engineering material for industrial applications. Randy has directed FSE’s technical offerings to over 200 clients (nearly 4,000 projects). Under Randy’s direction and participation, FSE’s engineering department has developed FSE’s proprietary LamCode software. In addition, he has led research and development efforts resulting in new analytical and inspection techniques and development of new FRP/GRP products and applications. Randy directed extensive lab and full-scale field testing to support FSE design, failure investigations, used equipment evaluations and product development.

Kyle Schmidt — Senior Project Engineer

Expertise and experience: Kyle brings a wide range of in-depth knowledge of the FRP/GRP industry to FSE and our clients’ projects, effectively integrating the comprehensive services available from the engineering, inspection and testing groups to satisfy project goals. He has been instrumental in the ongoing development of FSE specification systems, inspection and investigative procedures, design innovation and technical reporting, spanning issues across the full life cycle of FRP/GRP equipment. Educated in construction management, Kyle has 38 years of experience with all aspects of industrial FRP/GRP equipment, including fabrication, design, specification, inspection, testing, failure investigation, project engineering and management in both fabrication facilities and at FSE.   

Approach: Kyle’s focus is to provide solutions to unique project requirements through the use of various design and procurement strategies that result in reliable designs, competitive bidding, and quality fabrication and installation through enforceable specifications.  Kyle supports and organizes all disciplines within FSE to assure integration, innovation, accuracy and timeliness of the work, and helps to implement a culture of strong teamwork and ethical principles.

 

Winston Renoud, P.E. — Founder and Chairman of the Board

Expertise and experience: After working in an FRP/GRP fabrication company, Winston perceived a market need for third-party expertise in design, fabrication and installation of FRP/GRP equipment. With a core group of engineers, Winston founded FSE in 1976, and directed the development of every facet of the business. During Winston’s leadership, FSE grew from a few engineers working in temporary quarters to the largest third-party FRP specialist firm in the world.  Winston sold the company to Chris Renoud in 2008.   

Approach: After turning over the daily management responsibilities to Chris, Winston’s full-time focus is educating clients and developing business around FSE’s FRP/GRP risk-reduction strategies, which include expert engineering, crisp project support, expert QA surveillance and thorough failure investigation.

 

Branch Offices

Radwan El-Merehbi — GCC General Manager—KSA branch office

Radwan brings 10 years of FRP industry experience from laminating to project management and sales to FSE as the new KSA branch office’s GM.  Radwan has successfully managed large FRP projects working with major players in the oil and gas and construction industries.  Radwan has a track record of satisfying customers’ needs and consistently develops strong rapport with all of his customers.

Isagani Paulino — GCC Regional Project Engineer–UAE branch office

Isagani has expert knowledge in establishing the quality and reliability of FRP/GRP structures through risk-reduction management, application of quality assurance systems and project management of power plants, industrial, chemical, processing, utility, marine/offshore and oil field production utilities. He has more than 32 years of experience in planning, organizing, directing, implementing and evaluating projects in Asia, the Middle East and North America.
